Compressors

Refrigerant compressors work by taking in low pressure gas on the inlet and compressing it mechanically. Different types of compression mechanisms are what differentiate compressors.

Hermetic Type / Reciprocating

Hermetic Type / Reciprocating

Hermetic types seal the compressor and motor together in the same housing. As reciprocating, this compressor uses a piston.

Hermetic Scroll Type

Hermetic Scroll Type

A hermetic scroll is  sealed compressor that is able to achieve the flow rate, and outlet pressure, similar to reciprocating compressors, at a smaller size, and better efficiency.

Available Brands:

Copeland | Danfoss | Sanyo | LG

Semi Hermetic Type

Semi Hermetic Type

Semi-hermetic types have direct connection to the motor. However, the sealing is not a complete one.

Rotary Type

Rotary Type

The rotary compressor can be divided into two types. One has blades or vanes that rotate with the shaft. The other type has the blade which remains stationary and is part of the compressor housing assembly. In both types, the vapor from the suction line is drawn into the cylinder through the suction port.

Panasonic | Toshiba | LG | Rechi | Mitsubishi

Open Semi Hermetic Type

Open Semi Hermetic Type

Semi-hermetic types have direct connection to the motor. However, the sealing is not a complete one. Open compressors rely on either natural leather or synthetic rubber seals to retain the internal pressure, and these seals require a lubricant such as oil to retain their sealing properties.
